Thanks to the nice support from our local radio club the station setup
turned out just fine even with a missing third operator. On Saturday we
experienced some massive wind gusts from west which made the rotary antennas
dance over a 90deg range. Curiously enough this did not hurt the rate to
W/VE and even attracted some nice Caribbean and South American multipliers.

The persistent rain on Sunday drowned the Cushcraft traps and caused S9+
static on all bands. We could only hear some northern stations with the
Beverage. The most frustrating moment was a pileup of DLs and Gs calling us
right below the static noise on 40m. Later 20m as the only open band was
about as slow as 40m with the R7 vertical as the remaining antenna.

Under the circumstances we sure were surprised to claim a new DL record.
