As distance to the FD site remains about the same from my new home I arrived around noon time on Saturday as usual. Setting up the push-up mast went smoothly so we had enough time for a lunch break and visiting Manfreds new contest site. At the beginning 10m sounded so quiet we really thought the TS590 to be deaf. We also played with the generator for quite a while until we found the right gas position. With the improved DX condx we had hoped for an improved score compared to last year. But as the activity spread out over the 6 bands in the evening we never found a good run rate on any particular band. As we managed to work a decent lowband multiplier early in the evening we could spend some additional time on 15/20m throughout the night providing some really interesting QSOs. At 1:00 local I heard ZL3PAH tuning across 15m but could not get his attention. DL0LA/p really was in and out all the DX pileups as fast as it gets. As usual the most interesting part of the game was over at about 11:00 local and we were left switching back and forth between 20 & 40m. One of the highlights was working many stations on several bands, even the casual OMs - TNX! Shortly before the end we got another adrenaline rush when we lost power for 15min due to a broken wire in the AC outlet. Ready for antenna shutdown we had an enormous rain shower washing our equipment and the operators. We really enjoyed another head-to-head race with DL0LA/p leaving us uncertain about the results until the very end. Congrats! These were the DX-Highlights: 10: 5T, 9J, CM, D2, HS, PY, LU 15: 3W, 8P, 9M2, BV, BY, CM, HC, HR2, HS, VR 20: 3B8, A5, CM, HC, HP1, JT, VK6 40: A5, CM including 2 different A6 stations on 10-20m. 73, Stefan DL1IAO for the DR0W/p FD-Team DL1IAO@contesting.com http://www.dl1iao.com
